Positions Available:

​Line Cook
Positions available in Truro Pictou and Tatamagouche, NS
Under the supervision of the sous chef and executive chef, the successful line cook will be responsible for preparing delicious food for customers in a busy restaurant kitchen. The ideal line cook has a passion for food, is energetic, dynamic, thrives under pressure and wants to have fun at work. 
Main duties include:
    Setting up and stocking stations with all supplies
    Preparing food for service
    Cooking menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
    Ensure food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
    Safe and responsible use of a flat-top stove, oven, burners/pans and deep fryers
    Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef instructions
    Clean up stations and take care of leftover food
    Thoroughly clean all kitchen areas at closing time
    Stock inventory
    Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
    Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
    Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
    Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures

​Production Cook
Positions available in Truro, NS
Term of employment: May – October 2024 (start and end dates are flexible)
Reporting to the Production Supervisory, a production cook has high standards of cleanliness and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have experience in a banquet or hotel kitchen preparing large batches of food safely and consistently.  Food Handler's course is preferred. 
Main duties include:
    Follow recipes to create batches of food consistently
    Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
    Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat and fish, slicing and grating cheese
    Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, removing trash, sorting compost and recyclables
Requirements:
    Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
    Manual dexterity to operate cutting tools and utensils
    Team player
    Patient and positive under pressure
    Good physical condition – able to move quickly and efficiently, able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds

Dishwasher
Positions available in Truro, Pictou and Tatamagouche NS
Term of employment: May – October 2024 (start and end dates are flexible)
Reporting to the kitchen manager, the dishwasher is arguably the most important person in the kitchen!
Responsible for washing and sanitizing all dishes for customer use, pots, pans, and cutlery.  Sanitizing work surfaces, sweeping, mopping, removing garbage and general clean up.
Hours of work vary, days, evenings and weekends.

​Delivery Driver
Region of work: Truro, Pictou, Tatamagouche
Reporting to the General Manager, the Delivery Driver moves goods between our three locations in Truro, Pictou and Tatamagouche.  The ideal candidate will be self-directed, sensible, flexible, able to work independently, able to lift up to 75 pounds, friendly, and with a clean driving record. 
Hours of work will vary, but will generally be weekdays.

Host
Positions in Truro, Pictou and Tatamagouche, NS
May - Sept  (start and end dates are approximate)
Reporting to the Front of House manager, FOH support helps servers and bartenders deliver top quality customer service to all guests by assisting with greeting, seating, order taking, food running and processing bill payments in a busy restaurant.
Main Duties Include:
    Greet guests at entrance
    Seat guests and communicate with servers when they have a new table
    Give menus, cutlery and water to guests
    Answer phone to take orders and reservations
    Organize reservations and keep track of wait list during peak times
    Clear and sanitize tables
    Assist servers in running food, as needed
    Assist bartenders with stocking and making drinks
    Take payments with portable debit machines, or make change for customers paying cash
    Ability to write legibly
    Clear communication skills on the phone and in person
    Able to work quickly, efficiently and in a friendly manner under pressure.
    Able to stand/walk for long periods of time

Bartender/Barista
Positions available in  Truro, Pictou and Tatamagouche, NS
May – October 2024 (start and end dates are approximate)
Reporting to the Front of House Manager, the bartender/barista pours draught beer, wine, serves bottled beer and creates beautiful craft cocktails as well as an array of coffee drinks.  They make drinks directly for customers sitting at their bar, and also for servers who take drinks to tables throughout the restaurant and patio. The ideal candidate will be friendly, hard working, efficient, able to multi-task and stay cool under pressure. 
Knowledge of health and safety (food handler’s course is preferred)
Basic knowledge of cocktails, wine and draught beer
We provide training!
